As the matches got underway it was clear to see that this was to be a closely fought contest with the real winner being any person who could complete their round without losing the dozen HKS embossed Srizon Z Star Golf Ball’s kindly supplied by Stephen Mercer to each group.
After 5 hours of at times delightful, and at other times disastrous, golfing action the matches finished and 24 thirsty soles headed to the bar eagerly anticipating the results. At this time it became evident that perhaps something had gone awry with the handicapping. Whilst the gross scores were fairly even the overall result was a resounding 6-0 win to the HKGTA. Fortunately for Scottish the 19th was still all to play for and upon finishing up in Sai Kung circa midnight it had been agreed that this whole at least was firmly won by Scottish and pride had been restored.
A big shout out to Sophie Maguire from the HKGTA and Bryan Rennie from HK Scottish for arranging an outstanding day.
The focus now turns to our first HK Scottish Golf Society event on January 12th…thankfully being played on the South Course!
