community

Hong Kong Scottish is proud to work with a range of partners and local charities to deliver impactful community programmes and events. We aim to be right of the heart of the communities we represent.

We recognise how rugby and sport can be used as a social development tool to:
– bring communities together;
– enhance the health and wellbeing of the local community; and
– enhance the education and lifelong learning of young people and their families.

We also want to help grow the game of rugby in Hong Kong by introducing more young people to the sport in a fun setting.

In the past few years we have worked with a number of charities including: Impact HK, SoCO, The Hub HK, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, Mind HK and Mother’s Choice.

This has included a range of initiatives and events, such as #5911 Miles cumulative virtual walk/run event (the distance from Shek Kip Mei to Murrayfield, Edinburgh). This saw over 200 participants from all corners of the globe walking or running distances between 30 and 300kms, raising over $350,000 for Impact HK and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

We are also very passionate about helping raise awareness and understanding of mental health and have run a number of events, including a fundraising event with former Scotland rugby star Graeme Morrison, to encourage more open conversations within our sporting community.

We are also open to new collaborations wherever we feel we can add value.
