Match report vs Valley

Supporters were treated to a feisty spectacle as Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish took on League leaders Societe Generale Valley on Saturday the 9th of December at The Rock Shek Kip Mei. A large crowd had gathered to support as both clubs were hosting their respective Christmas parties after the match but it was Valley who started well with a push over try in the 7th minute by Dane Jans, HKS put over a penalty through McNeish not long after and responded with a try by captain, Kane Boucaut taking the score to 8 - 7 in favour of the home side.

Valley then tok the lead through a try near the uprights but this seemed to bring the home side to life, both Sam Vaevae and Conor Hartley found holes in the Valley mid field which Kyle Sullivan managed to convert into points through a pick and go try. Half time 22 - 14 to HKS.

HKS were given 3 yellow cards during the match for technical infringements and Valley made the most of the numerical advantage scoring 2 quick tries. Kane Boucaut scored his second after a stunning line break from veteran fullback, Ben Tyler and then Conor Hartley scored under the posts after a neat inside ball from Gregor McNeish. Sam Vaevae converted and HKS took the lead with 3 minutes to go.

Valley managed to secure the ball and keep possession for 29 phases only to set up a hear breaking last minute drop goal to steal the victory from the home team.

The HKS Nomads had a difficult game after the First XV defeat and they too went down to a strong Valley team 17 - 12. Our HKS Kuris had another strong victory beating Tai Po 47 - 0.

HKS will look to bounce back as they take on Tigers on the 16th of December at 15:00 in the last match of the round before the Christmas break.
